Reach Up, Reach In, Reach Out
Our mission is to grow closer to God, closer to one another, and closer to our community.
Welcome to Hope Apostolic Church, a faith-filled body in the heart of Robertson County, TN. For the past 25 years, our church has been a beacon of hope, grounded in the timeless teachings of the Bible. What sets us apart is our unwavering devotion to fostering personal relationships and building a strong sense of community. As we grow, our focus remains on the core values that have shaped us from the beginning—our commitment to building strong families, engaging Bible study, and deep worship that brings us closer to Jesus. Our mission to "Reach Up, Reach In, and Reach Out" reflects our commitment to worship, relationships, and outreach.

Pastor Joseph Hale
Bro. Joseph has been part of the Hope family for nearly 15 years. He and Anna were married in May 2013 and have served here ever since. Joseph and Anna took on the role of lead pastor at Hope in 2017. Joseph also serves as the General Secretary of the Associated Brotherhood of Christians. Pastor Joseph grew up in inner-city East Nashville and Sis. Anna grew up in rural Adairville, Kentucky. They now call Greenbrier, TN in Robertson County home. In 2025, after 10 years of prayer and waiting, Joseph and Anna welcomed their daughter, Daisy. As a family they enjoy playing music, working in the yard, cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers, and spending time at home with their two beagles, Laz and Martha.
Associate Pastor JJ Marais
Pastor JJ Marais, Sis. Rebekah, and their five children are the backbone of Hope Apostolic. If you arrive to service early, you will find their entire family at the altar praying. Bro. JJ moved to the area 11 years ago from Michigan when he married Sis. Rebekah, who is a lifetime member of Hope Apostolic. He is so much more than an associate pastor. Bro. JJ is world-mission minded, a power-house preacher, and a prayer warrior. He currently serves as the Tennessee State Presbyter for the Associated Brotherhood of Christians, and is heavily involved in a mission work started by his parents in South Africa. Sis. Rebekah teaches Sunday School, sings on the praise team, and is everyone's go-to voice of reason when it comes to raising children. Their family enjoys game nights together, swimming, playing outside, and going to church!
Bishop and Sis. Pitts
Bro. Pitts is the founding pastor of Hope, and served as pastor at our current location from 1998 until 2017. He is now our bishop, but would prefer it if you called him "Grandad." Bro. and Sis. Pitts started having church in a small cabin behind their home in the early 90s, and in those early years Bro. Pitts baptized many of his family members and friends in the Red River and Sis. Pitts taught Sunday School lessons to many children around her kitchen table. When asked the biggest change he has seen in the past 30 years, Grandad says that we've learned how to love people better and how to welcome them better. What has stayed the same? It still feels like family.

Pastor
Christina Link
Worship Leader
Sis. Christina is the leader of our worship team, and is a gifted musician playing keys, guitar, mandolin, and pretty much anything else she puts her hands on. Christina regularly ministers by preaching and teaching in our church and on the road as well. She is an avid student of the Word of God and leads a home Bible study weekly. She also teaches 4th and 5th grade reading at Adairville Elementary School.
Worship Leader
Dalton and Jordan Knuckles
Youth Pastors
Dalton and Jordan are simply some of the best people you will ever meet. They recently began serving in our congregation as youth pastors, but before that were faithful members for many years. Sis. Jordan has taught Sunday School for most of the years she has attended church here at Hope, and Bro. Dalton is the kind of guy who will do anything asked of him. They are parents to three beautiful children (and one on the way)! Dalton also owns his own track-hoe business, so they stay busy. We are thankful for them!
Youth Pastor
Lauren Pitts
Hope Kids Director
Sis. Lauren has worked with our Hope Kids for many years. She is so much fun! She is a talented teacher, dancer, singer, and puppeteer... all skills she uses to entertain, educate, and encourage our preschool through fifth grade students. Sis. Lauren also serves on our worship team as our resident drummer and she is a special education teacher at our local elementary school.
